Terms and Conditions of Service

 

 

The training rules and agreement and these terms and conditions apply to all contracts between EMDR Therapy Training Australia and the customer (trainee) in regard to training, workshops, webinars, consultation, formal and informal.

 

Service definition

EMDR Therapy Training Australia offers the following services: training, workshops, webinars, and consultation which can be delivered face to face or online. Customers may also purchase recordings of some workshops and webinars.

EMDR Therapy Training Australia offers EMDR Therapy Basic Training that has been accredited by the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA). This includes EMDR level 1, EMDR Level 2 Adult or Child and adolescent focused, and EMDR consultation that meets all curriculum requirements as set out by EMDRAA.

 

When registering for EMDR Therapy Training Australia services the following agreement is effective between EMDR Therapy Training Australia and trainee:

  • I agree to read the program rules and agreements outlined in this document fully and to complete all course requirements, including the completion of the “Course Agreements” lesson, located in the course site within the online learning platform.
  • I understand that the information shared in the program is for educational and information purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.
  • I understand that to be eligible for EMDR Therapy Basic Training I must meet EMDRAA eligibility requirements outlined at: https://emdraa.org/are-you-eligible/
  • All training participants must complete all required pre-reading, pre-workshop materials, and each component of the training in order to obtain a certificate of completion.
  • Active participation and attendance for the full duration of each live session is mandatory in order to complete the training.
  • Participants must ensure they have access to appropriate technology to facilitate their training experience. This includes familiarity with the training platform, along with Zoom. All participants must ensure they have a working camera and microphone for online training components.
  • As part of the EMDR training process, participants will engage in their own experience of EMDR through supervised “practicum” exercises. In these exercises, individuals will be required to both receive and provide EMDR therapy based on real-life experiences. This experiential learning approach is essential for developing an appreciation of the subjective experience of EMDR therapy and for providing valuable training opportunities for peers. This is also a required component of the EMDR Association of Australia Basic Training Curriculum to which this training is accredited.
  • Please note that the purpose of these practicum sessions is strictly educational. They are not intended to serve as personal therapy. As such, any personal material shared should be appropriate for a training environment, focusing on issues that participants can process within the scope of the training and are not related to unresolved personal issues requiring ongoing therapeutic intervention.
  • It is common for participants to experience authentic emotional reactions during these exercises. In such instances, it is crucial that participants are equipped with effective self-soothing and emotional regulation strategies to manage any distress. While facilitators will provide sensitive and compassionate support throughout the training, the responsibility for seeking additional professional therapy, if needed, lies with the individual participant. A list of qualified EMDR therapists is available at www.EMDRAA.org for those seeking further assistance.
  • If participants are currently engaged in therapy or psychiatric treatment, they must inform their treating professional about the training and obtain their consent to participate, including the experiential components of the program. Additionally, participants with medical or mental health conditions— including dissociative disorders, PTSD, substance use, or personality disorders—must discuss their situation with the training organisers before enrolling. This ensures the training environment is safe for everyone and tailored to the participant's needs.
  • Failure to disclose relevant mental health concerns, or engaging in the training without proper clearance, may result in dismissal from the program without refund. All personal disclosures will be treated with confidentiality to protect participant privacy and safety.
  • Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the training experience. Participants are expected to maintain the confidentiality of all practicum sessions and consultations. Trainers and facilitators will supervise and may intervene during sessions as needed to ensure that the training remains effective and supportive. During live online sessions, it is imperative that participants participate from a private, secure space to maintain confidentiality. The use of headphones is strongly advised to ensure that discussions remain confidential and that no sensitive material is overheard by others.

 

Program Costs, Fees, Payments

Registration for training, workshops, webinars, and some consultation groups are performed through the online services: Kajabi, Acuity, and/or Tickettailor on our website. Customers are required to pay directly after registration to finalise the registration process.

Once you complete your registration and payment you will receive an email confirmation of your registration together with a receipted Tax Invoice. Kajabi and Tickettailor offers payment via Stripe. Your bank or credit card statement will show a charge to EMDR Therapy Training Australia. EMDR Therapy Training Australia is registered for GST within Australia.

Registration for some training, consultation, webinars, and consultation may be done via email. Customers receive an invoice via the accounting system Xero, and payment of invoices sent via Xero can be paid via bank transfer with no service fee, or paid via online payment services (i.e. stripe, google pay, apple pay), and processing fees will be added to the transaction. If an invoice is not paid after the service, EMDR Therapy Training Australia has the right to charge the customer with the interest and any (legal) costs made to ensure the payment is made.  

Purchase of access to recorded EMDR Therapy Training Australia workshops or webinars is done through the online service Kajabi on our website. Customers are required to pay directly after registration to receive the link to the recording which is valid for a limited time period.

 

Changes, Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellation by customers

Customers purchasing a recorded EMDR Therapy Training Australia product cannot receive a refund after the link with access to the recording has been sent. By accepting these terms and conditions customers agree to waive the cooling off period.

For face to face and online workshops and webinars, refunds and cancellations are agreed on as follows:

  • Refunds and cancellations are given when a request to do so is received in writing or email more than 60 days before the workshop or webinar start date, less a $50.00 administration fee per person.
  • Cancellations made within 59 and 21 days of the scheduled start date of the workshop are given 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made within 20 days of the scheduled start date of the workshop are not refundable, but may be transferred in full to one other person to attend the same workshop. We must be advised of the full details of your substitute person prior to the start of the workshop and you must pass onto this person all materials that you have received.
  • Refunds cannot be made for non-attendance, for whatever reason.

For customers purchasing Online EMDR consultation sessions refunds and cancellations are agreed on as follows:

  • Refunds and cancellations on Online EMDR Consultation will be given if a request is received in writing or email more than 14 days before any consultation group has been attended, less a $50.00 administration fee.
  • Once EMDR consultation groups, purchased within a package has begun being attended, the remaining consultation sessions are not refundable, but may be transferred in full to one other person to attend the same scheduled consultations. This person must be eligible to attend the EMDR consultations, by having attended an accredited EMDR Therapy Training. We must be advised of the full details of your substitute person prior to the start them attending any consultation.
  • Refunds cannot be made for non-attendance, for whatever reason.

 In addition to refunds and cancellations, the scheduling of EMDR Consultations through the online Acuity Calander also allows for rescheduling of EMDR consultation times, but only up until 14 days prior to the scheduled consultation day and time. Any cancelling or rescheduling within 14 days of a scheduled consultation time will result in no refund, and the forfeit of this as one consultation session within your package of sessions purchased.  Individual EMDR consultation sessions are available for purchase to make up the loss of a session due to rescheduling within the 14-day period leading up to a consultation scheduled.

To avoid any further online processing fees, EMDR Therapy Training Australia will process all refunds by asking you to provide your BSB and Bank Account number and refunds will be sent via a back transfer.

Changes and cancellation by EMDR Therapy Training Australia

EMDR Therapy Training Australia reserves the right to make any reasonable changes to any events, programs, trainings, or workshops, webinars, or consultations such as but not limited to cancel, reschedule or change a face-to-face workshop or training into online, change the venue of the event as well as the substitution of an alternative presenter if the advertised presenter is not available, without notice at any time. This can be done for reasons such as but not limited to: pandemic restrictions or safety or the trainer and customers, other disasters, sudden unavailability or a trainer or not having sufficient registrations that meet the minimum number required.

In the event that a workshop presenter is unable to complete a workshop or training, then EMDR Therapy Training Australia reserves the right to substitute another experienced presenter to complete the training. In the event of any changes, we will attempt to contact you at the earliest opportunity using the contact information supplied by you at the time of booking. It is your responsibility to ensure these details are accurate and to regularly check for any notification of changes.

In the case of cancellations, registrants will receive a full refund. EMDR Therapy Training Australia will not be responsible for any cost (i.e. flights, accommodation) other than any payment for workshop or webinar registration.

In case of rescheduling, registrants have the right to cancel and receive a refund less a $50.00 administration fee per person. In case of changing a face-to-face workshop or training into online, registrants do not have the right to cancel.

For EMDR consultation groups online, each session requires a minimum of 3 participants for an hour session. EMDR Therapy Training reserves the right to reschedule trainees should this minimum number not be met.  EMDR Therapy Training Australia reserves the right to substitute the EMDR consultant for the session with another experienced EMDR consultant.  If rescheduling or substitution of an EMDR consultant needs to occur, EMDR Therapy Training Australia will contact all consultees scheduled at the earliest possible opportunity via the contact information given by you upon registration. Thus, It is your responsibility to ensure these details are accurate and to regularly check for any notification of changes.

 

Privacy

EMDR Therapy Training Australia is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all customers, and handles the personal information provided by customers according to our Privacy Policy 2025. By accepting the Terms and Conditions you are accepting this Privacy Policy, and you are consenting to our collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.

 

Equal Access

Any person with specific needs as a result of a disability who wishes to attend one of our trainings can seek clarification on the facilities from EMDR Therapy Training Australia ([email protected]) or alternatively, contact the workshop venue directly.

 

Non-Discrimination Policy

EMDR Therapy Training Australia does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, colour, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, religion, or marital status in its educational programs, activities, or employment practices.

 

Intellectual Property

EMDR Therapy Training Australia holds the intellectually property for the content of workshops, webinars and the materials, unless otherwise stated. Participants are not allowed to use any materials for other than personal use or to copy or distribute to others. Customers are strictly prohibited from recording or broadcasting audio or video or any part of EMDR Therapy Training Australia’s recorded material. By clicking on the link, the customer affirms that they will not, in any form, record any part of the training, workshop, webinar, or consultation.

 

Grievance process

Should any trainee have questions, concerns, or complaints, they should contact either the trainer who presented the workshop and/or EMDR Therapy Training Australia ([email protected]). EMDR Therapy Training Australia will send a written response to these questions, concerns or complaints within 30 business days. Any ethical concerns can be directed to AHPRA (the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) at www.ahpra.gov.au.

 

Changes to the terms and conditions

EMDR Therapy Training Australia intends to develop and enhance services continuously and we will update these Terms and Conditions from time to time as required. The new version (the current version date is below) will take effect immediately. We can change these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting the updated terms to the Site. The updated terms will take immediate effect. We will keep prior versions of these Terms and Conditions archived. We encourage you to check this page regularly and review any updates.
